In 1997-98 he was able to raise more than 10 million Swiss francs in private venture capital based on his ideas used to acquire and renovate a defunct car plant in the post-reunification state of Saxony. Unfortunately, the Saxony Development Bank refused to pay out the money promised in writing by the state’s Ministry of Economic Development and the project landed in serious financial difficulties. It became impossible to implement it as originally designed. The development of other innovative technologies, such as an environmental-design module house, also had to be suspended.
